The opening of Varosha, the enclosed part of Famagusta, constitutes a third Turkish invasion of the island of Cyprus. Famagusta Municipality has taken the initiative for a major awareness campaign which assertively expresses the obvious: the desire of the lawful inhabitants to return to their occupied city, as well as their determination to defend their legal rights.

The new political scene in the occupied areas, in combination with Ankara's blatant cynicism and the upcoming developments of the Cyprus problem, prompt the people of Famagusta to shout out loudly "We Won’t Give Up!". We are still here, determined to defend our past, our culture and our history.

The awareness campaign will include a series of posts, messages, images and actions in Cyprus and abroad. 48 years away from the city where we were born is too long, but time only adds to our determination to persist, to demand and to hope.
